“LETHE” | Meridian, 51ST EDITION

Winner of the Robert Manford Tobin, Jr. Scholarship and later published in the Meridian Creative Journal’s 51st edition, “Lethe” is a flash fiction discussing love, legacy, extinction, and least of all, fly fishing.

“SATURDAY MUSINGS FROM THE SKULL CORNER” | OCCASIONS ONLINE 2020

Despite being written at only nineteen, my creative nonfiction essay “Saturday Musings from the Skull Corner” was the second-place winner in The CU Program of Writing and Rhetoric Writing Contest in the upper division category. Based on my many Saturdays spent leading programs at the Morrison Natural History Museum, this piece reflects on deep time, the sublime, and the value of paleontology in an ever-changing world.

VIDEO PRODUCTION.

As a science communicator, faithfully representing both the objective facts of science and the subjective experience of scientists is my highest priority—a priority that extends to my work as a video producer for nonprofits like SciAll.org and Girls At the Museum Exploring (GAMES). I strive for this ideal through every step in the process, from interviewing scientists, to graphic design and editing, all the way to sharing on social media. Though they converse with varying audiences, it is my hope that this same spirit pervades every video.

CABINET OF CURIOSITIES | SCIALL.oRG

A short-form adaptation of my debut series with SciAll.org, which explores innocuous knickknacks in scientists’ labs that reveal deeper insights about their worldviews. This interview footage was my own.

ASK FEMALE SCIENTISTS | SCIALL.oRG

The first of shorts of a SciAll initiative adapting SciAll’s old material to short form. These videos were compiled from old interviews with women in science about their unique STEM perspective.

SCIENCE HEROES SPOTLIGHT | SCIALL.oRG

Another series adapting old interview footage, Science Hero Spotlight follows scientists reflecting on their “science heroes” from fiction, from history, and from their own STEM careers.

PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA… | SCIALL.oRG

A short series adapting preexisting interviews for short form wherein scientists speak on a part of their work that isn’t often spoken about.

Common Science Mistakes | SCIALL.oRG

Another series adapting preexisting interviews for short form detailing common pitfalls science students make and how to avoid them, straight from scientists who have walked the path before.

COOLEST THINGS ABOUT BEING A SCIENTIST | SCIALL.oRG

The current longest series adapting preexisting interviews for short form, Coolest Things About Being A Scientist gives SciAll’s diverse team a chance to brag about what makes their science career worth it, and what any interested students have to look forward to.

MISCellaneous | SCIALL.oRG

Other teasers or standalone videos I’ve made for sciall.org.
